Academics

Firm Foundation Christian Academy, as a Cambridge International School, provides an internationally recognised curriculum focused on excellence. This is supported by our annual pass rates at IGCSE, AS and A Levels. With our broad and well supported curriculum Firm Foundation provides for a range of choices and pathways.

Our professional, innovative and resourceful staff create dynamic learning environments where pupils are encouraged to become independent learners and thinkers! Classes are made small to promote imagination, a real hands-on engagement with the curriculum and increased teacher-learner interaction. Our active classroom spaces encourage pupils to be creative, accept challenge and seek solutions.

High performers are extended through project work and competitions. Participation in national and international competitions such as the Maths Olympiad, National Allied Arts and Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards which stimulate and reward the pupils.

The Head of Academics is responsible for overseeing the academic program by coordinating subject choices, syllabuses, examinations and timetables. The Head of Academics is responsible for ensuring that our teaching and learning environment is both dynamic and contemporary.

Our educational Philosophy


We believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially, and develop their self-esteem and core values. It is our desire as educators to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. We offer Cambridge syllabus which sets a global standard of education, Cambridge prepares students for life and helps develop informed curiosity and lasting passion for learning. We purpose to attain very high standards and pass rate at both o and a level. Our Teaching team comprises of innovative, passionate and result oriented staff.




Academic Structure

Form 1 - has 3 classes that have a full range of subjects offered. Class sizes are rarely above 24. The classes are screened according to perfomance in tests to encourage competition and remediation.

Form 2 - 2 classes screened after assesements.

At the end of the year choices are made for IGCSE (Cambridge International Examinations).

Form 3 - First year of preparation for CIE - IGCSE

Form 4 - CIE-IGCSE examinations written by all learners

Lower 6 – A level subjects (With option of writing AS-Level)
Upper 6 – A level subjects
